Anyone that knows me would know this is was a challenge for me since Im *very* alergic to feathers I thought I could do this if I was careful enough, but on a 20min shot I got so ill I had to put them away and spent weeks very ill... lol. So I guess thats the last time you will see me handling feathers, (except the little cute hats, that I cant help it!) hope you like the image though :) soon to be seen in magazine adds!

Great shot, but too bad about the allergy.

Ostrich feathers were used historically because to be able to use them the fans need to be both light and easily allow air to go through them so that they could be manipulated briskly.

There were classic burlesque dancers though that did use lace fans very effectively, probably for the same reason. I think this photo would have worked with lace fans, so you may want to look into those.

is there synthetic feathers? I think most feathers are real and tinted.

I've seen both Synthetic and artificial feathers And while I'm not sure if there are any to match your needs I've seen different types on google images. I hope you find some you can use as you rock that look.
